Flamengo midfielder Alisson Becker has announced his retirement from football, ending a long and illustrious career with the club.

The Brazilian international made his professional debut for Flamengo in 2011 and quickly established himself as one of the team's key players. He went on to play over 400 games for the club, scoring over 50 goals and winning four Campeonato Brasileiro titles and two Copa Libertadores trophies.

In addition to his success on the pitch, Alisson was also known for his leadership off it. He was named captain of the team in 2018 and played a crucial role in helping the club win its first-ever Campeonato Brasileiro title in 2019.

However, despite his success, Alisson decided that it was time to call it quits after a decade with the club. In a statement released by Flamengo, the midfielder thanked the fans and the club for their support throughout his career.

"I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my career," he said. "I have lived a very special journey with this wonderful family at Flamengo and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me."

Alisson's departure is sure to be a big loss for Flamengo, but he will always be remembered as one of the greatest midfielders the club has ever produced. His legacy will live on through the memories of all those who watched him play and the countless fans who loved him.
